An article published by Ben Kuchera at Arstechnia, discusses the government’s involvement in film and game ratings. “context vs. content” as the writer states, “is something that can be argued endlessly.” An interesting read that provokes the question, How should we designate a rating for movies or games? What amount of violence, sex, etc. denote an R, PG-13 or PG rating? What do you think? Is this even the governments responsibility.
Mr. Mac

well this is an interesting question to ponder…. i went ahead and read the article, i would have to say i agree with been that the dark knight should be an R rating… and when he talked about the differences between halo and condemed but them still have the same rating i think that is a flaw in the system. He said for the rating system to work it has to go by strict rules but that can lead to ignoring bigger issues of context or “feel”… well i would say that there just has to be a bigger difference between mature and teen ratings or there just has to be more ratings to fit them under… well i dont know if that really made since or if i just sound stupid but thats what i think about this.
